More about POUND JEWELRY...
POUND jewelry began in 2010, inspired by nature, art, fashion, and photography.
Growing up in sunny Florida afforded the girls, Becca, Linda, and Mia, a warm and nature-filled childhood. Being the creative spirit that Linda is, she adorned Mia and Linda with hand made necklaces. These jewels soon became the envy of all of their friends who began lining up to have jewelry made for themselves. The two girls moved out of the home in the late 90’s to pursue some of their goals in their adult lives: Becca as an occupational therapist and yoga instructor in NYC and Mia as a film student and photographer in Chicago. Their jewelry creations went with them and continued to collect compliments and attention throughout the years. The three of them made the decision during a holiday at home to combine their unique talents and spread their passionate vision through jewelry. And thus, POUND was born.
POUND jewelry is composed of unique, often one of a kind, hand-made pieces that combine bold shapes, textures and colors with an eclectic persona that have a story to tell. Intertwining inspirations from travels to Africa, Asia and the Middle East, the necklaces often boast a tribal aesthetic paired with an elevated taste level. The jewelry has a powerful presence and a mystical nature that often magnetically attracts women to their perfect POUND piece. Though materials are sourced from around the globe, POUND jewelry’s collections are produced domestically in New York City, Chicago and St. Louis where the three creators live.
Materials such as mixed metals, semi-precious stones, crystals, rare and exotic gems, Roman glass, druzy quartz, wood, shell, bone and howlite appear in POUND pieces. POUND components are chosen based upon their quality and a certain ‘aliveness’ that can be felt when wearing the jewelry. POUND speaks to the inner beauty in all women who desire to be seen and heard while expressing their own individual style. The pieces are highly wearable and durable while at the same time expressive and artful. POUND jewelry and its creators seek to continue spreading their vision through their work with women across the globe. As the earth, resources and people evolve, so will POUND.
