One weekend while in the Dominican Republic shooting a house for the magazine CASA, I had a couple of hours extra at this amazing location, called Casa Kimball… so I decided to photograph a Dominican model, Carla Prieto. Here are a few shots from that shoot.
Styling by Oscar Montes de Oca, Hair/Makeup by Richard.
Very minimal retouching had to be done… the colors are natural. I just desaturated the red tone from the model’s skin a bit.
This was such an amazing location… I had only wished that I would have had more time there. The model, hair & makeup artist arrived at 2pm to get started, and the model had to leave by 5pm! (just when the light was getting good! ugg!)… plus hair and makeup took an hour and a half.
I had to shoot these is full sunlight (no diffuser on hand)…. but the hasselblad made the colors of the sky and water vibrant and really stand out. Thank you hasselblad!
At the very end of the shoot I asked the model to get in the water. I wish all my shoots could be in exotic locations shooting in just a swimsuit :)
