Dominican Republic Fashion Designer Oriett Domenech came to NYC to have me photograph here latest collection. I chose a studio in Bushwick Brooklyn and shot the colorful collection on a grey seamless background. To give the images an extra “punch”, I chose to BACKLIGHT the model with one high key light and only use a large piece of gold mylar film/paper in the front to reflect back up onto the model and to create a moody effect.
This was shot with a CONSTANT light rather than strobe as I was shooting video on set as well and just wanted to simplify things. It can sometimes get crazy trying to shoot a full lookbook collection (stills), and ad campaign and shoot and direct a 3 minute fashion video… so it is important to simplfy, be organized, and set a tight schedule.
Here are a few shots from that shoot where I art directed, photographed, retouched.
